• July 27 — Google Cloud's enterprise documentation is updated to list https://notebook.google.com as the interface of the personal product — the first official page anywhere to reference it.
• July 29 — the rollout is partial: in our measurements, requests to either address were routed to both. You could land on either one in a given session.
• August 1 — the move looks complete: in our tests, every request to notebooklm.google.com was answered with a redirect to notebook.google.com.

Is notebook.google.com legit? How to check for yourself

Yes — and you don't have to take our word for it:

1. It's a real google.com subdomain. The address ends in .google.com, the same parent domain as Gmail or Drive — not a lookalike domain someone registered.
2. Sign-in goes through accounts.google.com, exactly like every other Google product.
3. Google's own documentation lists it. Google Cloud's Gemini Notebook Enterprise overview states plainly: "Interface: https://notebook.google.com".
4. The redirect was promised in writing. Google's July 16 Workspace Updates post committed that "automatic redirects will ensure existing shared notebooks and user links continue to work."
